CHARITIES in the borough could see their design wrapped around a Reading Bus is they become the bus company’s Charity of the Year, for 2020.
Reading Buses are inviting local and national charities who work with local people to become their next charity of the year.
The selected charity will benefit from approximately £10,000 which the bus operator plan on raising across the year.
Caroline Anscombe, HR Director for Reading Buses said: “We are looking for a charity which is able to partner with us and provide their expertise to help us raise funds and awareness as a joint enterprise.
“We also support events organised by the charity which can raise local awareness of its work through Reading Buses network of services across the town and the Thames Valley.”
Perhaps the biggest win for the charity will be having one of the company’s generic buses wrapped in the charity’s own design. The fully wrapped bus will act as a mobile advert and will be seen around the town and beyond for a whole year.
Promotion also includes the company’s website and social media and the company’s annual open day every summer – in aid of its charity – which attracts thousands of visitors.
“We need applications from charities themselves so someone who works for a charity can follow the instructions on our website in the how to apply section,” said Ms Anscombe.
“We are open to most charities, but there are some criteria which need to be adhered to, such as being fully registered with the Charity Commission and having a charity number.”
The closing date for applications is Thursday, October 31.
