Reading FC manager Noel Hunt heaped praise on winger Chem Campbell and has confirmed the club are exploring their options to keep him until the end of the season.
Campbell joined from Premier League Wolves on a short-term loan deal, which has now expired.
DEspite their financial difficulties, the club are hopeful that they will be able to extend the deal and keep him until the end of the campaign.
After a slow start to life in Berkshire, Campbell has developed into an important player for the Royals and has netted five times and assisted four in all competitions.
Speaking to the media after Reading’s 0-0 draw at Charlton, Hunt said: “We want him back, he wants to stay.
“He is a part of us and our family. The boys love him and I love him.
“He is one of us and has an amazing, infectious personality. He is someone you want around the club and we are in talks to get things done.
“He took a knock and wouldn’t have been fit (for Charlton), even though he wanted to train but it doesn’t look too bad.
“He has already been with us so we’re just trying to keep him here. We hope that’s the case.
“We have been in contact, Brian Carey and the people at the club have been in contact with the EFL to make sure we get the stipulations right.
“We want to do everything right and we are working to get things sorted.”
