Mark Ashwell, the president of Wokingham Town Football Club and Wokingham Borough Council’s executive member for economic development, put his skills to good use on Saturday.
Although Wokingham Town were soundly beaten 4-0 at Amersham Town, Mark, who is also CEO of Woodley-based Trademark Windows, was able to turn a defeat on the pitch into a win in other ways.
With his business hat on, he managed to sell a new window to the football club’s opponents.
He told Wokingham Today: “Although the football club lost, I was able to turn defeat into a victory for my business, and for business in Wokingham Borough.”
