NOMINATIONS are now being accepted for a prestigious local award scheme.
Wokingham Town Council’s civic awards aim to reward individuals living or working within the town boundary for their outstanding achievements and contributions.
The nominations deadline is the end of November, and the awards will take place on Friday, January 25, when town mayor Cllr Julian McGhee-Sumner will present the winners with their honour.
In a statement, the Chairman of Wokingham Town Council’s Civic Committee Cllr David Lee said: “Wokingham Town Council takes great pride in recognising those individuals who have significantly supported our Wokingham community.
I encourage you all to think of people you know who have contributed to our town and nominate them to be considered for this important award.”
And Cllr McGhee-Sumner said: “I will be honoured to host the 2019 ceremony and meet with those people who have been nominated to receive an award.
I have come to know so many people in Wokingham who undertake such valuable voluntary work, we would like your help to nominate these people so that Wokingham Town Council can thank them personally.”
An official ceremony will take place on Friday 25 January 2019 when the Mayor will present awards to successful nominees.
