St Vincents Veterinary Surgery are delighted to announce our Open Day on Saturday 17th November 2018 from 2pm to 4.30pm.

We would like to invite you to join us to see behind the scenes at a busy veterinary practice, meet the staff and owners Michael and Nancy Morrow and spend some time looking at our exhibitors and enjoying some refreshments.

All are welcome at this fun-filled family and pet friendly day.

On arrival you will be invited to tour the practice as part of a small guided group, and be given a fascinating insight into the procedures and operations that take place in the prep room and theatre. Diagnostic and  therapeutic equipment, as well as new and old approaches to anaesthesia will be on display and discussed.

We hope that you, as owners, will also gain some appreciation of the complexities of providing quality medical and surgical veterinary care for your pets.

At the end of our Open Day we will also be announcing the winner of the competition to name our new ambulance (pictured below) – please enter via Facebook or in the practice on the day to have a chance of winning some bubbles and chocolates.

After the tour we invite you to join our exhibitors upstairs and enjoy some refreshments. We have a range of fun and informative people joining us for the afternoon. We will be fund raising for The Cinnamon Trust, a wonderful charity helping older people keep their pets and the emotional support that brings, whether in their own home or when going into a residential environment.

We strongly support the human health aspect of pet ownership, and would ask that you donate on the day, either by entering the raffle or just ask a staff member how else you can help. We are also going to be joined by the team from Canine Assisted Learning and some of their superb dogs who work with children in schools, improving behaviour and attention and enhancing the lives of young people throughout the borough.

The results of their work with young people are fantastic to see and I would encourage you to chat to them to find out more about their work.

The Ferret Club will be with us again with some of their wonderful ferrets for people to see and handle. This year there’s a twist as they will also be joined by Hopi the skunk, who I am assured is quite delightful and not at all smelly! I think staff and visitors alike will be fascinated to meet Hopi.

Our orthopaedic surgeon Nicci Meadows will be on hand to discuss the range of orthopaedic services currently offered at St Vincents Vets, and will have implants and techniques on display and be available to answer your questions.

There will also be a table of fluffy ‘patients’ for our younger visitors to try their hand at some bandaging, and Suz Sunshine Face Painting will be offering face painting for young and old alike.

In addition to coffee, teas and snacks, we will be joined by Siren Craft Brewery – offering some free samples of their award winning ales. They will also have some items for sale. This may be the perfect end to your visit.

All of us here at St Vincents Veterinary Surgery look forward to seeing you at our practice. Existing and prospective clients, friends, family and well behaved pets all welcome.

DoggySmiles creative photography will be taking photos on the day so remember to tell your pets to look their best!

Please join us on Saturday 17th November between 2pm and 4.30 pm for our Open Day.

St Vincents Veterinary Surgery is Oaklands Park, Wokingham, RG41 2FD.
