FOUR GIRLS from Twyford’s Piggott School have qualified to compete at the Royal Windsor Horse Show this summer at their first attempt.
Sophie Sparkes, Elysia Heagren-Bond, both 12, and 14-year-olds Jemima Maxwell and Alice Gardner won through a strong field as a team of four to book their spot in the National School Equestrian Association’s Show Jumping Championship.

The qualifying event took place at Felbridge Showground and Sparkes, riding Marno, Heagren-Bond on Paris, Maxwell with Ramiro and Gardner on Caspar finished second out of 22 teams with Sparkes also placing fourth individually out of 95 competitors.
“We couldn’t believe it as they gave out the results,” said team manager Andrea Sparkes.
“We’d never done one before. It was a very competitive class and we had no idea if we’d even get placed.
“We’re elated!”
Preparation starts now ahead of the prestigious Royal Windsor Horse Show on May 12.
