Man’s inhumanity to man is bad enough
But if you’re a hapless animal then tough luck,
You’ve definitely drawn the shortest straw
You’re a mere commodity, nothing more
To be used and abused by man whilst on this earth
Considered expendable, of little worth,
Used and abused usually for financial gain
Both expendable and insensitive to pain
Mankind doesn’t need to eat foie gras or ambepouilia
Or to drink civet coffee, wear mink fur coats or snakeskin boots
Such trappings of wealth don’t matter two hoots
Animals are sentient creatures not to be beaten or tortured
Skinned alive, blow torched or caged for life then slaughtered
