Nearly two thirds of Twyford Drama’s 70 plus members are involved in a special production to mark the group’s 60th anniversary.
Producer Jocelyn Robinson has just given potential audiences an update on progress to create the dramatic and musical acts making up the Diamond Gems show.
She said: “The Rough Diamonds musical group of guitars, piano, drums and tambourines are progressing well, and have already recorded the backing tracks for the singers to use in practice.”
The acts are rehearsing hard – with ‘books down’ (everything from memory) deadlines looming.
Actor and director Peter King has been appointed master of ceremonies.
Stage manager Rakhi Drennan is working her magic on sets to transform the stage to suit the varied performances.
The audience for the production at Loddon Hall, Twyford, on October 10 and 11 will be seated in cabaret-style round tables.
Tickets at £15 are on sale and must be bought in advance.
They include a souvenir programme and refreshments. Other drinks will be available at the hall bar.
