WOKINGHAM’S highways expert cruised to victory in Winnersh.
Cllr Paul Fishwick won re-election, winning by 961 votes.
His nearest challenger was former Wokingham Conservative executive member Anthony Pollock, who held a number of roles in his time in power including that of executive member for finance.
Winnersh has become a Lib Dem stronghold, and this cements the party’s grip on the seat – add up the other parties’ votes and Cllr Fishwick would still have won.
He said: “I am very, very happy.
“I am very pleased the residents of Winnersh have re-elected me and I am very proud.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to serve our residents.”
