Thousands of runners descended on Wokingham on Sunday to take part in the annual David Cliff Wokingham Half Marathon, one of England’s most established road races.
The event, which has been held annually since 1984, attracts competitors of all abilities on the fast, predominantly flat course that starts and finishes in Wokingham town centre.
The overall winner was James Sullivan with a time of 1:11:32, closely followed by Liam Carter who finished in 1:12:15. Among the women, Emily Roberts claimed first place in 1:21:47, ahead of Sophie Lane, who completed the course in 1:22:30.
Several runners achieved personal bests, with many age category winners recognised for standout performances:

Volunteers from local community groups helped marshal the course, manage water stations and support the race village at Cantley Park.
The race also featured a Children’s Mini Mile, encouraging young runners to take part alongside adults in a vibrant celebration of community sport. Many local running clubs participated, with supporters lining the streets to cheer on competitors.
The Wokingham Half Marathon is known for producing fast times and strong performances and remains a highlight of the Berkshire sporting calendar, supporting local charities and drawing thousands of spectators each year.
