Wokingham borough council has issued a call for potential development sites.
It is now open and will run until 23:59 on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Landowners, developers and others are invited to suggest sites they believe have potential for development.
The information gathered will be used to help us understand how development might be managed when preparing our new local plan – the Wokingham Borough Local Plan 2045.
The council will assess all sites for their suitability, availability, and whether they are achievable by 2045.
Suggesting a site does not mean it will be selected as being suitable for development, allocated for development or given planning permission.
The council is looking for suggestions for all kinds of development, which includes housing, including market and affordable housing, housing for older people and gypsy and traveller, and travelling showpeople pitches and plots.
It is also interested in sites for other types of development such as employment, retail, recreation, community and renewable energy generation.
The quickest and easiest way is through our online survey, which can be found on the Engage consultation webpage.
The online survey allows you to tell the council about the site’s location and boundaries in several ways:
-
Drop a PIN on a map
-
Upload a GIS shapefile
-
Draw the boundary on a map
-
Upload a map
The rest of the survey lets you give information about the site, including uploading supporting documents.
If you are unable to use our online survey, you can download a Word version of the survey form from the Engage consultation webpage and return it to us by email or post, along with supporting documents, to:
