A BUSY town centre road is to be closed to traffic to enable a drainage survey to take place.
Denmark Street, home to many businesses including Oslars Coffee Shop, Wokingham Library and Specsavers, is to be shut between its junctions with Peach Street and Langborough Road for the duration of the survey works.
Luckley Path between its junctions with A321 Peach Street and Denton Road, will also be closed.
There will be a detour in place while the Wokingham roads are shut.
Thankfully, the road closures take place overnight: from 9pm to 6am on Monday night and Tuesday night.
A council spokesperson said the works were “To enable contractors to undertake essential drainage survey works in safety”.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by item the Denmark Street closure is via Shute End, A321 Shute End and A321 Wellington Road.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the closure of Luckley Path above shall be via Sturges Road, Murdoch Road, Easthampstead Road and A329 Peach Street.
