The magic of the FA Cup cup will be returning to Wokingham borough next month.

The Football Association has released the highly anticipated early round draws for the 2026/27 national cup competitions, handing Wokingham Town some mouth-watering fixtures to look forward to across the senior and youth ranks.

Fans can now officially begin plotting their road to Wembley, with the Sumas handed an intriguing home tie to kick off their FA Cup campaign, a short trip for the Vase, and a huge developmental showcase in the prestigious FA Youth Cup.

Here is a full breakdown of who, when, and where Wokingham Town will be playing.

Extra Preliminary Round: Wokingham Town vs Corsham Town

Date: Weekend of August 8, 2026 .

Venue: Emmbrook Sports Ground, Lowther Road

Prize Money: Winners receive £1,125 | Losers receive £375

The Sumas will enjoy home advantage to kick off the 146th edition of the world’s oldest knockout competition.

They will welcome Hellenic League Premier Division Corsham Town to Lowther Road for what promises to be a highly competitive all-Step 5 clash.

Should Wokingham Town successfully navigate past Corsham, the FA has already mapped out their next step — and it’s a massive one.

The winners of the tie will progress to the FA Cup Preliminary Round on Saturday, August 22, where an away blockbuster against Step 4 outfit Hungerford Town awaits.

A trip to the Southern League side would provide an incredible early-season test and a brilliant gate day for local football fans.

ISUZU FA VASE

First Round Qualifying: Sandhurst Town vs Wokingham Town

Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026

Venue: Bottom Meadow, Sandhurst

Prize Money: Winners receive £550 | Losers receive £160

In the FA Vase, Wokingham Town will hit the road for a brilliant local derby. The Sumas have been drawn away against fellow Berkshire side Sandhurst Town in the First Round Qualifying.

Derby days in knockout football always bring an extra edge, and this short trip to Bottom Meadow is expected to draw a fantastic crowd.

If Wokingham Town can silence the Sandhurst crowd and secure the win, their path in the Second Round Qualifying (scheduled for Saturday, September 12) has also been drawn. They will play host to the winners of the tie between Carterton and Wells City, offering a fantastic chance to build serious momentum in the competition.

FA YOUTH CUP

It’s not just the senior squad looking for a historic cup run. Wokingham Town’s rising stars have also discovered their path in the FA Youth Cup — the premier knockout tournament for under-18 teams in the country.

The FA has confirmed the early round brackets for the qualifying competition, which is set to get underway in late August.

Wokingham Town’s under-18s will enter the prestigious tournament with an away tie at Eversley & California with the dreams of mirroring the club’s senior ambition, facing off against top regional talent under the lights.

The qualifying rounds represent a massive platform for the borough’s best young players to test themselves against elite academies and showcase their skills to a wider audience.
