AWARD-winning garden designer, TV presenter and author Adam Frost will be visiting a borough garden centre at the weekend.
Visitors to Squire’s Garden Centre in Hare Hatch will be able to enjoy an inspiring day of free planting demonstrations and expert gardening advice.
New to the locality, Squire’s is a family-owned business, with three generations working together.
Squire’s Hare Hatch is the group’s 17th centre, and its second in Berkshire, the other located near Wokingham..
Renowned for his Chelsea Flower Show successes, Adam is passionate about sharing his love of gardening and encouraging everyone – whether new to gardening or experienced growers – to get planting.
Sarah Squire, chairman of Squire’s Garden Centres, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Adam Frost to Squire’s Hare Hatch.
“His enthusiasm and knowledge make him an inspiration for gardeners with lots of experience or none at all.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for visitors to learn from one of the best in the industry and to enjoy a fantastic day out at our newly opened Hare Hatch centre.”
Adam’s hands-on presentations will provide expert tips on creating beautiful spring containers and growing your own produce in pots, as well as answering visitors’ gardening questions. And he will be signing copies of his latest book, For the Love of Plants.
Hosting two planting sessions and a gardener’s question time, Adam will discuss how to select the best materials, planting techniques and aftercare for thriving plants.
In the morning people can learn how to create attractive spring containers, and in the afternoon there will be tips on container growing your own vegetables
Each session will last around 60 minutes, including a ‘gardener’s question time’ when visitors can seek Adam’s expert advice.
Demonstrations will take place outside so visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to visiting Squire’s Hare Hatch and sharing my passion for gardening.
“Container planting is a fantastic way to bring colour and life into any space, no matter how big or small.
“Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced gardener, I hope to inspire visitors with simple, practical ideas that make a real difference.”
At 10am – he will demonstrate The Perfect Spring Pot, sharing expert tips on choosing plants, layering for impact and keeping a display looking fresh for months.
At 1pm – people can learn how to Grow Your Own in Containers, with simple techniques for successful container gardening of herbs and vegetables.
The event will take place at Squire’s Garden Centre in Hare Hatch, on Sunday, April 13 at 10am and 1pm.
Visitors to the centre over the weekend of April 12 and 13 will be able to take advantage of exclusive special offers as well as food tastings, available only at Squire’s Hare Hatch.
