Paul Ince will take his Reading FC side to Plough Lane to take on AFC Wimbledon in a pre-season friendly.
The match will be the first in a set of pre-season games to prepare for the new Championship campaign where they will face the League Two outfit on Tuesday, July 19 (7.45pm kick-off).
Ince’s team will spend a week training at England’s St George’s Park at the start of July as they begin their preparations for the 2022/23 season.
Reading’s Head of Football Operations and former manager Mark Bowen was in charge of the Dons last season at the conclusion of their campaign.
Tasked with a mission to keep Wimbledon in League One, they fell just short and were relegated on the final day after a 4-3 defeat to Accrington Stanley.
Having left his role at Wimbledon as manager, Bowen re-joined the Royals last month to take up a role as head of football operations.
