WOKINGHAM Baptist Church hosted a celebration of Ukrainian culture.
A performance of songs, dance, music and theatre was organised by church member Robin Scurlock, and supported by More Arts Wokingham, and YouTooMusic.
Called, Spring – A Time of Hope, the evening was a fundraiser for Dnipro Hope Mission, and Ukrainian music groups in the Berkshire area, including Kryla choir, Balamuty and Zorya dance groups and Osobystist theatre group.
“Feedback from the evening was very positive,” said Robin.
“It felt more like a fun-filled party than a formal concert, and demonstrated the passion, energy and enthusiasm that Ukrainian performers bring to their proud culture.
“It was a clever and wonderful mix of talents.”
Oksana Dema, Musical Director of Kryla choir and Kateryna Spitkovskaya, Director of Osobystist theatre said: “We want to sincerely thank the church for giving us the opportunity to hold our concert last week.
