With the glorious weather recently it reminded me of the time I spent four days exploring a hidden gem within the UAE, Ras Al Khaimah.
A destination easily reached and explored over an extended weekend.
As Dubai has consistently been growing in popularity every year but I have been getting a lot of questions of late with clients asking to go somewhere hot, on a beach but they have been to Dubai and although they loved it, they would like to go somewhere different.
Ras Al Khaimah has filled that gap in the holiday market exceptionally.
With year-long sunshine and 64 kilometres of white sandy beaches, stunning terracotta deserts and towering mountains.
Ras Al Khaimah offers something for everyone; choose from adrenaline-fuelled water sports, hiking and desert safaris, luxurious resorts and spas and much more.
There is nothing quite like the great outdoors and Ras Al Khaimah will captivate you with its dramatic and diverse landscapes which provide an oasis of exciting, outdoor activities for all to enjoy.
The Hajar Mountains are perfect for a picnic or hike, with dramatic canyons and spellbinding views around every corner.
Consider embarking on an exhilarating mountain bike adventure or my personal favourite, sleep under the stars at one of the many beautiful camping spots.
Only 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport and with coastline stretched along the calm, crystal-clear Persian Gulf, it’s no surprise Ras Al Khaimah is a hotspot for thrilling water sports. You can take your pick from scuba diving, jet skiing, wakeboarding, and much more.
Amongst the golden-red sands of the Emirates embark on an authentic Arabian experience an exhilarating four-wheel drive safari across the dunes, or leisurely roam the Emirates’ landmarks and historical sites, such as Dhayah Fort and Mohammed Bin Salim Mosque.
And, like me, be captivated by the daily life of the Bedouins.
For those thrill seekers amongst us, you must not miss Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE and home to the world’s longest zipline, reaching speeds up to 150kph.
Authentic and generous hospitality is an essential component of Arabian culture.
Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or simply a place to rest, you will find perfect accommodation choices, from luxurious five-star hotels, family-friendly all-inclusive resorts or spend nights under the Arabian starry night sky in one of Ras Al Khaimah’s desert camps.
Ask Ben
Is five days in Las Vegas enough? – Isabelle, Bracknell
Yes and no. It really depends on what you plan to do while you are there.
Las Vegas is quite a unique destination in that most people think it’s just about the gambling.
However, there is so much to do that it would take more than a month to do it all.
Give me a call and we can discuss what you are thinking and we can work out the perfect amount of time needed for you.
How much time do I need between flights? – George, Wokingham
This depends entirely on the flight itinerary.
Some airlines allow transit times of only 50 mins to connect to the next flight, some require in excess of two hours.
We always discuss transit time options with our clients so they are comfortable with the times prior to booking any flights.
