JAMES ANDERSON is confident there are goals in his squad, despite Woodley’s struggles in front of goal.
The Kestrels are winless in eight games after Saturday’s 6-0 thrashing at leaders Highworth Town.
And in that run, in which seven of the games have ended in defeat, Anderson’s men have netted just three goals.
“We’ve had a few injuries to a few players but certainly that out and out goalscorer who’s going to get you 20-25 goals is difficult to come across,” Woodley boss Anderson told The Wokingham Paper.
“That’s where money talks in this league and rightly so. If you bring goals, you go to clubs where you can get paid a good amount and that’s fair enough.
“That’s how football works at every level. But we’ve definitely got goals in us, it’s just a matter of taking those chances.
“If you look at the amount of shots we’ve had on goal in certainly the Burnham game and then again against Fairford, we’re getting chances, it’s just putting them away.
“Toby Briggs has come in for the last fix or six games and he’s got two or three goals and two or three assists as well, so he’s really hit the ground running.
“Danny Horscroft is our top goalscorer with six goals or something like that. That probably says it all.
“Danny’s been playing brilliantly but he would say himself, he shouldn’t really be a leading goalscorer for a club.”
Woodley paid for a nightmare start at Highworth, giving themselves a mountain to climb by conceding three inside the first 18 minutes.

Playing down the slope in the first half, Highworth wasted little time in getting their noses in front, going 2-0 up after six minutes through goals from Kieron Gleed and Jason Milhench.
A quick counter attack yielded a third as Gleed netted again before Woodley dug in and held on until half-time.
Haydon Richardson was brought on up front at half-time to try and relieve some pressure by holding up the ball but despite his hard work, Highworth ran in three more goals.
Dan Drewett made it 4-0 before an own goal and Gleed completing his hat-trick sealed the 6-0 victory.
“We knew it was going to be tough coming into this league,” said Anderson.
“We knew that every team playing at this level has got a certain amount of quality about them and we’d be very much at the bottom of the pile in terms of the history of the club.
“This is the first time we’re competing at this level.
“But I certainly think the talent we’ve got in our squad and some of the performances that we’ve had doesn’t reflect the results we’ve had.”
Woodley, who slide to 17th, go to Royal Wootton Bassett Town in league action on Saturday before a trip to Thatcham Town in the cup on Tuesday evening.
