Students at Forest Sixth Form are celebrating another year of strong A Level results, with a rise in top grades and more students securing places at leading universities.
The school said nearly a quarter of students achieved A* to B grades across three academic subjects.
Performance at A* to A also increased, with some STEM subjects recording results of up to 67% at those grades.
More than two-thirds of students achieved the highest grades across the broad range of subjects offered at Forest, according to the school.
There was also a significant increase in the number of students meeting higher university entry requirements, with more achieving AAB or above in two or more facilitating subjects.
Headteacher Shirley Austin said the results represented another year of improvement for the sixth form.
“We are proud that 2026 shows new records broken at Forest, and continued improvement made in the Sixth Form,” she said.
She highlighted continued strong performance in subjects including computer science, physical education, art and photography, film, maths and further maths.
New records were also set in English Literature and physics, she said.
The school added that its value-added performance and the number of A Levels on target had improved for a third consecutive year.
Students have secured places at universities including Bristol, King’s College London, University College London and Loughborough.
Among the top performers was Aditya K, who achieved four A* grades and will study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol.
Jeff L achieved A*AAA and will study Economics at King’s College London, while Tanuj S achieved AAAA and will study Economics and Data Science at Bristol.
Ellie achieved AAA and will study Physiotherapy at the University of Nottingham, while Ethan L achieved AAB and will study Mathematics at Loughborough University.
The school said these were among a number of successful results, with students also moving on to apprenticeships, employment and other destinations.
Nikki Welch, head of sixth form, led the results celebrations, which began at 08:00.
“It’s been a fantastic first year for me leading the Sixth Form,” she said.
“I share the ambition that every student will leave Forest having achieved at the highest level, and being prepared to succeed in their chosen pathway.”
The school said students had built a strong academic foundation as they prepare to take their next steps beyond sixth form
