BERKSHIRE Care Association’s BCA Care Awards 2025, brought together care professionals, providers, supporters, and sponsors to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work taking place across the adult social care sector in Berkshire.

Held at Windsor Racecourse, the afternoon was a powerful and uplifting celebration of the dedication, compassion, and excellence shown by care staff every day.

With more than 210 nominations received, the awards showcased a diverse and inspiring range of people and teams working across residential, nursing, domiciliary, and learning disability care settings.

Giving out the awards were David Emanuel and The new Mayor of Windsor, Councillor Mandy Brar, who was attending her first event after being elected the night before.

Representatives from three event sponsors handed out awards; Robin Hall from SESCA, Mal Whitham from Spark Care and Richard from Howden Insurance.

Peter Swallow, MP for Bracknell also joined the celebration.

For the first time, a new Chair’s Award for Outstanding Contribution, went to Halimah Halkier from All Care Thames Valley in Wokingham, who is still working at the age of 80. It was said of her: “After a career of more than 50 years, starting as ward matron, and now homecare worker, she continues to work with boundless energy and enthusiasm, earning the admiration of clients and colleagues alike,”

Peter Lomax, BCA Chair said “The BCA Care Awards are about shining a light on the everyday heroes of care – the people who go above and beyond to ensure others can live well, with dignity, independence and support. We are proud to give these professionals the recognition they deserve.”

Winners from Wokingham, Reading, Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell, West Berkshire and Slough were recognised in the awards.

The event was made possible thanks to support from Howden Insurance, Spark Care, Fulcrum Care, CoolCare, Citation, AEB Social Care, SESCA, Checkout Superstore Slough, CareLineLive and Wokingham Borough Council.
