Reading & District Angling Association (RDAA) is an expanding, community based angling club offering fishing for everyone at 40 venues across the Thames Valley.

They will be holding their fourth Open Day at our Farnham Flint complex at Pingewood, Reading on Saturday 5th July.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome. This year’s special guests include Phil Spinks from Angling Direct TV, Korda carp legend Tom Stokes, Angling Trust boss Jamie Cook and angling journalist and filmmaker Gary Newman. They will all be giving presentations in the main marquee from 11am onwards.

In the arena will be plenty of Tackle Stands and Stalls which we expect to include: The Environment Agency, Action for the River Kennet, Angling Trust, Polish Anglers Association, RDAA, Thinking Anglers, Sticky Baits, Gardner Tackle, Oxford Carp Baits, Rod Hutchinson / Bait- Tech, Angling Direct, Tadley Angling, Wolf International and more.

Outside there will be the ever popular fishing tackle only car boot sale from 10.30am and angling demos on lure and fly-fishing, plus a match angling masterclass, starting at 11.30am. There are still a few vacancies left for car booters at £5 per stall. Contact Martin at martinreadingwest@gmail.com to book a place.

The angling social media influencer Adam Jones ‘London Perchfinder’ is bringing along his high-tec sportsfishing boat and will be giving a talk on catching monster perch from local waters.

The Angling Coaching kicks off at 11am with a mix of basic have-a-go fishing tasters on Callows Pool and Catch a Carp sessions on Willmott’s Pool. All sessions are free but entrants must first book in at the coaching tent.

RDAA President Martin Salter said: “Our last three open days have been well attended so we are hoping that people will once more come along to meet our friendly and hard working team, pick up a tackle bargain at the stalls and car boot sale, learn how to catch more and bigger fish or perhaps have a go at fishing for the first time.

“There is something for everyone. We will be raising money for the RDAA Juniors Fund and for our River Kennet Hatchery but the main purpose is to offer people an interesting and enjoyable day out. We have ample parking, on-site toilets and refreshments available all day.”

The popular Kids Games and Bash the Bailiffs in the Stocks will be back and the team will be serving delicious refreshments all day long. Parking will be in Cottage Lane and at Pingewood Lagoon and stewards will be on hand to help.
