Wokingham borough councillors will meet next week to consider a licensing application for a new alcohol and music licence for a brewery in a Wokingham industrial estate.
Members of the licensing sub committee will meet virtually on June 26 to consider the application by Bearwood Brewing Ltd for its premises at Unit 1, Anglo Industrial Park on Fishponds Road.
The applicant has applied to have live music played from 8am until midnight, and from 8am until 3am on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, major events and recognised public holidays.
It also wants to serve late night refreshments until midnight, and supply alcohol (on- and off-sales) from 8am until midnight.
Notes to the meeting report that the premises is a brewery within a commercial unit, with an area intended for the retail of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for consumption both on and off site.
It also noted; “The Local Planning Authority requires the applicants to apply for appropriate planning permission and has requested that, in contrast with the applied for opening hours of 8am to 1am Monday to Sunday, the following condition to be added to the licence: “The use hereby permitted shall not operate other than between the hours of 7am and 8pm Monday to Saturday (inclusive) and shall not operate at all on Sundays or Bank or National Holidays.”
During the consultation period there was one representation against the application from a neighbouring business with concerns over noise nuisance, antisocial behaviour, and the safety of outdoor customers from regular delivery traffic.
The committee can opt to grant the application in full, grant the application but modified to such an extent as considered appropriate to satisfy any relevant representations and promote the licensing objectives, or reject the application.
