The planned closure of Molly Millars Lane at its junction with Finchampstead Road in Wokingham is set to begin today (Monday, July 21).
This is the first in a series of closures at this junction, to enable Wokingham borough council and its contractors to upgrade the existing mini roundabout to increase traffic capacity.
Molly Millars Lane will be closed until early September, with diversions for traffic. Residents and businesses will have access at all times, as will pedestrians.
Traffic will continue to flow in both directions on Finchampstead Road, but there may be short periods when temporary traffic lights are needed.
Once Molly Millars Lane reopens, there will be further closures on various sections of Finchampstead Road until March 2026.
These works are part of the south Wokingham distributor road project, which the council is completing in partnership with Balfour Beatty.
