A consultation has opened on plans submitted by Berkshire County Sports Club to extend the use of its facilities.
The club has applied to Wokingham Borough Council to be granted permission to use its artificial grass pitch at its Sonning Lane home until 10pm from Monday until Friday.
Currently, it has permission to operate until 9pm.
In a letter in support of its application, the club said: “Having recently opened the new 3G (artificial) pitch, .. it is clear that there is demand for extending the opening hours to 10pm, on weekday nights as the club is already receiving a large demand for bookings.
“The 10pm usage would bring the hours of operation of the new pitch into alignment with those of the adjacent floodlit artificial grass pitches.
“The three adjacent pitches have all operated until 10pm for many years with no recorded complaints.”
Other artificial sports pitches in Wokingham Borough, including those at Cantley Park, Arborfield, Ryeish Green and Montague Park, currently operate until 10pm.
The club added that an extension of hours to 10pm would allow a greater and increased community use of this valuable asset, thereby providing an added benefit to the community.”
The consultation is open until April 13.
