Wokingham paid its respects to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day last Friday.
Wokingham town mayor, Cllr Lou Timlin, was joined by Royal Tank Regiment veteran John Patey, and they laid a wreath at the Wokingham war memorial in the town hall.
A two minute silence was also observed to remember all those from the borough who were involved in the conflict.
VJ Day marked the anniversary of August 15, 1945 when Japan announced its surrender to the Allied forces.
Last week’s tribute was organised by the Wokingham Poppy Appeal in conjunction with Wokingham town council.
