FANS OF a local amateur theatre group will be pleased to hear that its next production is Laura Wade’s witty comedy Home, I’m Darling.
Twyford Drama’s autumn production focuses on a modern-day couple committed to their 1950s lifestyle.
While every marriage needs a little fantasy to keep it sparkling, Home I’m Darling demonstrates that, behind the gingham curtains, being a domestic goddess isn’t as easy as it looks.
Nevertheless the couple attempts to sustain their fantasy under pressure, in this funny and fascinating exploration of equality and gender dynamics.

Director Frank Kaye is revving himself up for the weeks of rehearsals and set design sessions ahead of him.
And the company is looking forward to seeing the play’s personal and political themes emerge through its clever mix of humour and sadness.
Frank transitioned into directing after a career as an actor, having achieved his Masters in Directing at Royal Holloway, and undertaken a professional direction of Faustaff in Mexico City.
A long-standing member of Twyford Drama, he has directed many plays with the group, including The Merchant of Venice and Entertaining Angels.
Home, I’m Darling can be seen at Loddon Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 8, 9 and 10.
Performances begin at 8pm, with tickets (which include a programme) available, priced £13 and £11.
