The Wokingham Lions Club Comedy Nights will return on October 3 for a new season of stand-up shows at Wokingham theatre.
The comedy nights have raised several thousand pounds for charity since their inception six years ago and have become a regular feature in Wokingham’s entertainment calendar.
Each gig features three comedians and a great compère.
Nearly half the tickets have already been sold for the October show, so early booking is strongly recommended.
A guest charity is invited to each show, and this time it’s Promise Inclusion, a locally based, self-funding charity supporting both adults and children with learning disabilities and autism.
A representative from Wokingham Lions Club told Wokingham Today: “The November 7 event will be our 20th comedy night, and to celebrate, we are running a special free draw where you can win two tickets.
“All you have to do to enter is visit www.wokinghamlions.org.uk/comedycompand click ‘Interested’ in the Facebook event before Friday, October 3.
“We will randomly pick a winner on that date, and the winner will receive two tickets to the show on November 7.
“Note that entrants need to be Facebook users and no alternative prize is available”.
Wokingham theatre is in Cantley Park where parking is free. Doors and the bar will open at 7pm, with the main show starting at 8.30pm.
Tickets are available to individuals or groups over the age of 18 priced at £18.50 and can be purchased from Wokingham Theatre’s website at www.wokinghamtheatre.org.uk.
