A BOROUGH choir is delighted to have raised more than £1,000 for charity through its Spring Concert.
In April the South Berkshire Singers performed to a packed audience in St Paul’s Church, Wokingham.
Their concert, Jubilate, included Vivaldi’s Gloria, Chilcott’s Jubilate and Chilcott’s Gloria.
After the free concert, audience members contributed to a retiring collection for St Paul’s Church’s chosen charities.
Home-Start Wokingham, Soulscape and the Bible Society will both benefit from the money raised by the event.
The choir is now working towards their next charity concert; Songs of Stage and Screen.
Under the musical direction of Katherine Walker, the singers will be accompanied by Simon Dinsdale and 4 In a Bar Saxophone Quartet.
The programme of music will include medleys from Les Miserables and The Best of Bond plus a variety of popular, well-known songs, including What a Wonderful World, Moon River, Hallelujah, Singing in the Rain, Somewhere over the Rainbow, and Crocodile Rock.
The event will raise funds for Limbcare UK, which offers hope, advice and peer support to amputees and limb impaired individuals, their families, friends and the wider community.
To hear South Berkshire Singers’ summer concert, people should make their way to Cauldwell Hall, Holme Grange Schooll, Wokingham, on Saturday, July 11 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15 for adults, and are free for children.
They are available from choir members, or online.
