Dashing through the snow: Thames Hospice Santa Dash fundraiser returns

THAMES Hospice’s annual Christmas fundraiser is returning this festive season.

The event sees participants don their Santa suits and go the distance in aid of the charity’s work supporting those with life-limiting illnesses.

Thames Hospice is calling on supporters to participate in this year’s dash, joining hundreds in jogging, running, or walking through Swinley Forest, Bracknell, which raises funds to support its work.

The event is dog-friendly and open to all ages and abilities, with a choice of a two-kilometre, five-kilometre, or ten-kilometre route.

It also features a morning of festive music and food.

It is sponsored by Bridges Bracknell Forest, who will also be taking part.

Emma Andrews, events fundraiser at Thames Hospice, said: “The Santa Dash is one of our favourite events of the year as we approach the festive season and get together with people from our community.

“We encourage people to take part, raise funds, and play their part in supporting families facing a life-limiting illness this December.”

James Macphee, from The Bridges in Bracknell Forest, said: “We are delighted to support Thames Hospice and its valuable work in our community.

“We can’t wait to join the festive fun at the Santa Dash and cheer on all the dashing Santas.”

The entry fee for taking part is £20 with a fundraising minimum of £50, or £40 for general entry.

Children aged 14 and under can take part for £10, and those under 2 enter for free.

A family fundraising ticket, for two adults and two children, is £45, also with a minimum fundraising total of £50.

General family entry is £65.
