A Shinield based gymnastic club were left head over heels in celebration after they were awarded as the British Gymnastics Community Club of the year.

Flexx Gymnastics Club, which was founded by Katherine Gale and Holly Lowe in April 2021, were amongst a record number of nominees in the shortlist for the awards before they were selected by a panel of judges as the winners.

The club originally opened their doors at Alder Grove School and were housed their for a year before they moved to School Green Community Centre in Shinfield to accommodate their growth.

Katherine and Holly have been involved in gymnastics since they were five and coaching for over 40 years combined.

After working with gymnasts performing to national and international level, they decided to open their own club and pursue their passion to provide grass roots gymnastics to children in the local area and schools.
