AN ANNUAL event that pays homage to hops, yeast and barley is fast approaching.
Twyford Beer Fest welcomes families to sample brews and enjoy a line-up of borough bands.
The event is organised by Ian Wisdom and his team, and is a fundraiser for male cancer charity, Orchid.
Each year the festival offers beers, ciders, soft drinks, food and entertainment, with all staff and acts giving their time for free.
There is easy access for families and people with special needs, and dogs are welcomed to the festival, which takes place over a long June weekend.
Reading Floyd tribute band Crazy Diamond will perform on Thursday.
They describe themselves as a band of passionate Pink Floyd fans playing for Floyd fans, with their theatre shows usually including a light show and projections to transport audiences back to the days of Pink Floyd.
Their show, Wish You Were Here, includes music from the eponymous Floyd album.
Orchid, benefitting from festival proceeds, has been working since 1996 to save men’s lives from testicular, penile and prostate cancer through a range of support services, education, awareness campaigns, and research.
It offers a free helpline for anyone who has been affected by male cancer, with access to nurses, information and support.
The event takes place at Stanlake Meadow Recreation Ground, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 6 , 7, and 8.
Gates are open on Thursday from 6pm until 11pm, and on Friday and Saturday from noon until 11pm.
Tickets for Thursday cost £10, (£5 for early bird tickets), or £80 for a group of 10.
