A CHURCH in the borough is hosting a series of music events.
St Paul’s Church organ recitals will provide a musical backdrop to the year’s seasons, with concerts to celebrate Remembrance, Springtime, Midsummer, and A Summer Evening.
The next event in the series will remember those in the armed forces who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Organist Christopher Cipkin will play.
A boy chorister of Leeds Parish Church, he later held organ scholarships at the University of Keele, and Newcastle Cathedral.
His career as an academic librarian led him to work at the University of Reading.
He is currently Director of Library at Royal Holloway, University of London, and is organist to St Paul’s Church, Wokingham.
Music For The Season Of Remembrance can be heard at St Paul’s Church, Reading Road, on Saturday, November 11, at 11am.
Admission is free, with a retiring collection at the end for the St Paul’s Church Restoration Fund.
