CHILDREN are encouraged to turn up the volume to discover the joy of reading this summer.
The Reading Agency is holding its Summer Reading Challenge 2026, which this year is music-themed.
Called Read to the Beat! It offers an exciting collection of books inspired by music from around the world.
Children and their families can sign up at their local library, to explore stories, poetry, graphic novels, and nonfiction for all reading level, enjoying rewards along the way.
And along the way they can enjoy rewards.
As part of the National Year of Reading, libraries are encouraging families to make reading part of their summer adventures. Children can sign up at the library and enjoy rewards along the way.
Wokingham Borough libraries will run a programme of events alongside the reading challenge, and further details of these will appear shortly on the library event’s page.
Families can sign up for free at their local Wokingham Borough library from Monday, June 29.
