WASTE and recycling collections across Wokingham borough will start an hour earlier than normal next week.
Due to the ongoing heatwave, Wokingham Borough Council’s crews will begin collections at 5.30am, from Monday, July 18.
Residents are therefore being asked to put waste and recycling out the night before their usual collection days to avoid being missed.
With temperatures expected to reach highs of 37°C, this is a precautionary measure to protect collection staff from the heat.
The council will continue to monitor the weather forecast and will continue the earlier start all week if high temperatures persist.
A spokesperson for the council added: “Thank you for your cooperation in supporting our crews during the heatwave.”
