A CHARITY for older people in the borough is holding a fun run in Crowthorne.
Age Concern Bracknell Forest supports seniors in the community, helping them to stay independent and connected.
The charity is holding a 5k Charity Fun Run and Kids Adventure Trail to raise money and awareness for its work.
This is the local group’s first event of many it hopes to host for the community.
“We’re really excited about the year ahead,” said a charity spokesperson.
“And we’re hoping to get as many local people involved as possible.”
The run will take place through Buckler’s Park woodlands, part of the Swinley Forest.
Its flat, accessible paths make the route suitable for all abilities, and for three winning runners there will be a medal and a prize.
An onsite photographer will capture the day, which organisers say will be a friendly community event, with every pound raised making a difference.
Participants are encouraged to attempt to raise £50 in sponsorship for Age Concern Bracknell Forest as they take part.
On the day, a Family Treasure Trail will enable children to discover hidden animals, solve clues and win a prize.
For Pokemon Go! lovers a special route will be set on the app, and a single treasure chest will also be hidden for a lucky winner to find.
Treasure Trail sheets cost £1 each on the day.
The event will take place at Bucklers Park Community Hub in Crowthorne, on Saturday, August 8, with registration at 10am, and the run starting at 10.30am.
